Concept

The TUT Library, founded in 1980, was renovated in consideration of its aging and incompatibility with the expectation on libraries in recent years. With a view to create innovation leveraging science and technology and to develop excellent engineers and researchers who can be active at a global level, "Multi Plaza" opened its doors on the first floor of the library, which is located at the center of the campus, as the core of the multicultural campus. Located at the first floor of the library, Multi Plaza serves as a place to promote exchange among Japanese students, international students, faculty, corporations and local communities. Furthermore, the Women's lounge, consisting of the Relaxation Room, nursing corner, etc. for women only, is newly opened in Multi Plaza to improve and strengthen the support system for female students and researchers, etc. The external public space to the north of the library is newly renovated to offer better quality as a unified space in consideration of the link and the flow of people from the internal to the external areas.
